Did EA buy Blizzard ???
Anyone know, I heard this from a friend. All I can say is if they did, kiss the Diablo world goodbye. If they did D3 will be a 'rushed for release' buggy nightmare...............Just my2cents

All signs point to no, Blizzard was not bought by EA.

EA may be taking cheap shots and buying up licences, but I've heard nothing about Blizzard being sold. They did, however, take the Star Craft Ghost project as far as I know...

I wouldn't be surprised if either EA or NCsoft bought them up.

From the rumors I have heard in the past, I thought Ghost was supposed to be a multiplatform game.
I doubt it would even run on a PSP though. The batteries wouldn't last longer than the loading screen.
DS For the win!

No. But the world did end when EA bought the rights to the Counterstrike and Half Life series. I wouldn't be suprised if a post apocalyptic apocalypse occured and EA bought yet another helpless company (down with EA Games! They SUCK!)

Gah I hate EA and everything they have ever put out. Now Rare, that is a good company. They produced almost all of the awesome games for the Nintendo 64. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong 64... Well, basically every 64 game I have is a Rare game. Its a shame Rare left Nintendo.

I like the maxis games and I might buy the madden ones, but that's pretty much the only things I buy from EA. Too bad Firaxis couldn't buy Maxis from EA. Wouldn't a Will Wright/Sid Meier collaboration be keen?

EA did not buy Valve (the developer of Counter-Strike and Half-Life), or any rights to their games, but Valve and EA entered into an agreement that EA is going to distribute the retail versions of Valve games. This seems to be aimed mainly at getting the upcoming XBox version of Half-Life2 into the shops. Full story can be found here.

Blizzard is only using EA as a distributor of its product. I don't believe blizz will ever sell out totally to EA. As far as D3 or WoS, I believe blizz will still solely PRODUCE the games, as far as distribution, no clue.

BTW for some of you EA games, Challenge everything, create nothing, haters...
Check out http://www.petroglyphgames.com/aboutus/index.php Some of the old Designers from the golden ages of Westwood studios, and Sid Myers Fame are now together again... I was pleasantly surprised when I saw so many familiar names and faces among the developers, I about cried...
And EA managed to piss just about everyone of them off in one way or another cause most of em are former EA employees that came to the company when EA bought them out, and effectively destroyed their franchises. So they left and reorginized. lol And pulled a wammy on EA by snatching up the Lucas Arts contract out from under EA. lol
There is hope still for some of the classic games of yesteryear!!! YEA!!!

EA are seriously hanus when it comes to development. Their sports games are worth mentioning, but the amount of weak, uninspired first person shooters they toss out is just rediculous.
Guided at the rare comment- Rare was not good at all. Donkey kong 64 was a crappy 3d platformer and more or less a polygon form of a scavenger hunt. Diddy kong racing was like a hanus mario kart with rare's crappy charecters. Goldeneye and Perfect dark were pretty good, but the PD sequal is not going to hold up.

BF2 is actually extreamly good. The graphics are wonderful.
It takes me less then a minute to log onto the account server, then maybe a minute to get into the game. Stock up on memory and all the preloaded objects won't vanish so quickly.

There. Happy?
Yes, I've never really liked EA. They've just never been able to.. Do anything great. Don't you just love how they bought the exclusive license for NFL games?
